Living

Some time ago Leanne's mom was diagnosed with some weird kind of cancer. She went through the rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy and for a while it appeared that she was in remission. She got used to wearing a wig while her hair grew back. She joked that it felt like cat fur now.
A few weeks ago she found out that the cancer was back. The team of doctors don't think chemotherapy will knock it out. They are recommending some pretty radical surgery. They say that the surgery could be curative. Mom seems resigned to deal with the drastic changes her life will take post operation. Dad seems terrified. My fingers are crossed. I hope she survives the surgery, and adapts to the changes. I hope she finds a way to still enjoy travelling and the other things she wants to do with her life. I hope the surgery really gets rid of the cancer.
I can tell Leanne is scared too. She isn't sleeping. I'm doing my best to console her.
